Threats
The last decades, the pressure
on the biodiversity increased enormously. In the beginning of
the 20th century the agriculture
intensified in several parts of Slovenia, while in other parts
the land was abandonded. When Slovenia entered the EU, the biodiversity
loss went even faster by increasing urbanisation,
infrastructure, water
canalisation, pollution,
and building of power plants.
Another threat is the increase of invasive
alien species, which are intentionally or unintentionally
released in the wild.
